Second part: Competition on Evaluation of Statistical Studies

In the first part of the workshop, various types of errors that researchers and users of statistical tools may encounter, were mentioned. Examples of these errors were also displayed and briefly discussed. The purpose of this competition is to present further examples for the participants in the workshop and help them to explore mistakes using the points they learnt in the workshop. The following sections describe how to participate in this competition. Please read carefully and include possible questions/comments into the conversation section. The organizers will answer your question as soon as possible.

Timeline of the competition

  • Complete and submit registration form until 25th Feb, 23:59 (IRST: +03:30);
  • Submitting the final report until 1st Mar, 23:59 (IRST: +03:30);
  • Submitting file of presentation until 3rd Mar, 11:59 AM (IRST: +03:30) .

Team arrangement

  • Each team has one, two or three member(s);
  • A team leader must be identified for each team;
  • All team’s member must be attended in the workshop;
  • All scientific rules and ethics must be respected during the competition.

Rules of competition

  • It is necessary to meet the timing of the competition;
  • It is impossible to change the subject, so please choose your subject carefully;
  • It is necessary to prepare the reports using the rules in the template files.

  • Problem understanding;
  • Review on data collection;
  • Review on data analysis;
  • Review on interpretation;
  • Review on quality of writing;
  • Presentation of review.
